Frank Beardsley, a widowed U.S. Coast Guard admiral and Helen North, a widowed handbag designer, were high school sweetharts that were reunited when Frank and his family move back to his hometown of New London, Connecticut. The reconnect briefly at a restaurant and later see each other at their high school reunion. At the reuninon, sparks began to fly between the two single parents, and Frank and Helen get married that night.Helen, who has 10 kids, and Frank, who has 8 kids, move in together, despite major protests from their kids. The 2 parents, their 18 kids, and the house maid, Mrs. Munyon, move into to a lighthouse, as it is the only place they can all fit! It soon becomes clear that Frank and Helen have two very different parenting styles, creating conflicts with both them and their children. The children, after much fighting an squabbling, come together as one to break their parents up so everything can go back to the way it was before their parents married. The children decide to do everything in their power to break them up, exploting their pet peeves. Finally, after dozens of small acts to try and break their parents up, they throw a party to create a major rift between Helen and Frank. While the kids threw a party, Helen and Frank were at Coast Guard dinner, where Frank was offered a promotion that would force him to move around a lot. When they came home, they were already upset about Frank's promotion, and were furious to see the par. Party their kids threw. Helen, was barely upset, while Frank was furious, driving the rift the children had planned between Helen and Frank down as farther down than they intended to. The next day, Frank took the job and Helen, though yelled at him to take the job, was furious that he left. The kids, realizing what they have done, try and reverse the damage they had done.They were succesful,all was forgivenwas, and everything was good in the world!
Your's, Mine, and Ours is an amazing family movie! My children absolute love it! Miranda Cosgrove plays such a great role in this movie as one of the children. The plot is one of a kind and shows the importance of family in a way tht no other movie could. Is sends the message to kids of all ages that despite differences love and family rings you together.Family is a bond that holds you for life, its just whether you choose to embrace it or pretend it never existed. I insist that everyone watch this movie at least once, if you haven't you are missing out on the classic story with so many amaziing and wonderful characters.
